​​SMWC members keep the place humming with a variety of activities throughout the Club’s regular season.  In addition to renting Essick House for weddings, receptions, business meetings and other special occasions throughout the year, the Club’s calendar is filled with a potpourri of Annual Community Events and Club Fundraising Activities.

convene to give thanks for our community. This event is by invitation only.   

Wistaria Festival
March  2021
SMWC members staff a booth to conduct outreach during this one-of-a-kind festival that attracts thousands of visitors to see the world’s largest blossoming plant, a Wistaria.  Now more than 100 years old, the Wistaria is called “One of the Seven Horticultural Wonders of the World.”  Located in the backyard of a private residence that is accessible to the public during the festival, this sprawling plant displays shades of purple and lavender blossoms that emit a pleasant fragrance.  The Wistaria Festival is usually held during the second weekend

in March.

Volunteers convene 7:30am at Kersting Court

SMWC members are busy slicing oranges the day before this annual race, ensuring that the 300+ runners each year are well-nourished and hydrated.  Providing all of the oranges has been an annual tradition as the Club’s way to participate in the second oldest trail race in the Golden State. 

The Mount Wilson Trail Race is held on the Saturday during Memorial Day Weekend.

Wisteria Thrift Shop's “Brown Bag Sale” 2021

June 5th
This annual sale is known by thrifters and bargain hunters

as the place to be.  This event is truly a win-win, as Wisteria liquidates inventory to raise funds

for scholarships and local charities; shoppers get great deals as they walk away with

as much as they can fit into a large brown grocery bag for a flat price.

EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

Our October Program and Project was donating personal care items to the USO for distribution to members of our armed services when they transit through the Inland Empire centers. KC Ullilo, representing the USO, spoke to our members and gave a presentation about their work.

I really enjoyed meeting all of your members and having the opportunity to spread the good word about the Bob Hope USO-Inland Empire.  Please know your generous donations will really come in handy during this very busy time.
